Arsenal’s pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has been aided as the Foxes seek a replacement for the Belgium international.

Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has been identified as a potential target for Brendan Rodgers’ side this summer.

The Frenchman has previously been linked with Arsenal, but it is believed that manager Mikel Arteta has shifted his focus to Tielamans.

The Leicester midfielder’s contract at the King Power Stadium expires in less than a year. While the Foxes want to avoid losing the 25-year-old for free next summer, they are sticking to their £30 million asking price.

The former Monaco star has made 120 Premier League appearances for Rodgers’ side and has secured a starting spot in Belgian coach Roberto Martinez’s squad ahead of the World Cup.

The Gunners have signed Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Fabio Vieria during the summer transfer window. Both of the latter can fit into the Gunners’ engine room, but Arteta is still keen on bringing Tielemans to north London.

The Belgian’s path to the Emirates has been paved after Foot Mercato reported that Leicester are interested in signing Aouar.

The Lyon playmaker also has a year left on his contract at the Groupama Stadium and has piqued the interest of a number of European clubs, including Leicester City and Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest.

The Frenchman scored 10 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last season, as Peter Bosz’s team finished eighth and missed out on European football.

Rodgers’ side have yet to sign a player this summer, but they are hoping that a move for Aouar will kickstart their transfer window.

Odegaard: ‘I have to do it my way’

Newly appointed captain Martin Odegaard believes Arsenal will use last season’s disappointment of finishing outside the top four to our advantage in 2022/23, returning ‘hungry and ready.’

Odegaard also discussed his pride in taking the captain’s armband full-time, how the new signings are settling in, the challenge posed by Palace in the opener, and how he tried to persuade his compatriot Erling Haaland to join him at the Emirates.

When asked if he feels any pressure on taking on the captaincy role at Arsenal, he said:

“I don’t feel any special pressure with it. Obviously there’s a little bit more responsibility, but I think I will do a lot of the same things. I always try to do my best for the team. I’m not going to change too much just because it’s a permanent thing now.

“I will do the same things and obviously when he wants me to be the captain I’ve done something right so keep going in that direction, maybe learn and grow a bit with time. But I have to do it my way and that’s what I will try to do. I enjoy the responsibility and hopefully, I can do it in a good way.”

London rivals Chelsea brought the lineup back to the usual 3-4-3 to start the second half, and things looked better at the start but failed to score as the Blues’ clean-sheet problems of recent seasons continue to plague the Blues. Arsenal beat Chelsea at the first whistle with their aggressive and direct play, with centre-forward Gabriel Jesus setting the tone, scoring the first goal after Chelsea were knocked over in their half. Arsenal won a handful of their fixtures in the United States, thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Albert Sambi Lokonga at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

A cheerful Gabriel Jesus moved calmly forward to Edouard Mendy, showing a composure rarely seen at Manchester City. He softly hit the chip to give Arsenal the lead and score four goals in four preseason games. Arsenal jumped ahead from an empty corner of Chelsea, with Gabriel Martinelli playing in Saka, who lacked the legs. Gabriel Martinelli split the Chelsea defence with a perfectly weighted ball, and Martin Odegaard made a touch before missing.

Mikel Arteta, meanwhile, has seen Arsenal win all four of their preseason games, although he hopes Gabriel Jesus is ready to live to stream them on Sky’s first game of the season against Crystal Palace. The bench just before the hour mark needed to be replaced. Gabriel Jesus appeared to be Mikel Artetas’ ingenious attempt against Premier League rivals Chelsea, the prolific No.9 he has been shouting about, highlighting value at Emirates Stadium again. Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel expressed worry over his team’s progress and his individuals’ lack of dedication throughout their preseason tour of the United States after they were defeated 4-0 by Arsenal in Florida on Saturday.

Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern star

With only a year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena, the £58.5m-rated star has been linked with a return to the Emirates Stadium.

According to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, Arsenal is keeping an eye on Gnabry’s status after missing out on acquiring Raphinha, who is expected to join Chelsea or Barcelona.

Gnabry, who was admired by former manager Arsene Wenger, only appeared 18 times during his initial tenure with the Gunners, but each of those came while Mikel Arteta was still on the field, which could aid the Spaniard if negotiations begin.

Since leaving north London, the 26-year-old has risen to become one of Europe’s greatest attacking players, helping him win many trophies with Bayern Munich.

But Gnabry might cost Arsenal around £50 million, which is comparable to what they would have had to spend for Raphinha, but they know that waiting 12 months could see them secure the German on a free transfer once his contract expires.

As a result, despite Arsenal’s interest in re-signing Gnabry, O’Rourke does not anticipate him to return to the Emirates until the end of the season.

“I think Gnabry has been on the radar of Arsenal, although I don’t think it’s a deal they’ll be able to do this summer.

“Obviously his connections with the club having previously been there before he returned to Germany, so he knows all about the club.”

Despite not reaching the heights of prior years, it was another great season in terms of goals and assists.

He scored 17 goals and set up 10 assists for his teammates to help Bayern win another Bundesliga title, with his WhoScored rating ranking sixth in the squad.

Only Robert Lewandowski (35) has more goals than the ex-Gunner, and only five other Bayern Munich players had more assists in Germany’s top division.

Gnabry was also among the top six players in terms of shots, critical passes, and dribbles per appearance, demonstrating that he’s still a classy operator at the highest level and would thus be an excellent acquisition for Arteta, whether this summer or in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star reported in April that Spurs manager Antonio Conte is also interested in Gnabry.

However, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to face stiff competition from Real Madrid for his signature.

Gnabry’s contract is coming to an end in June 2023. This has caused him to be concerned about his future.

Sky Sports in Germany reported a month ago that Bayern Munich wants to sell the winger this summer for roughly 40 million euros (£34 million).

As we know, there has not been an awful lot to shout about as an Arsenal fan in recent years.

Indeed, last season looked to be a year in which we might have been able to shout and jump for joy about, however we somehow managed to do what a number of us had hoped would not have been possible and miss out on UEFA Champions League football at the final hurdle when we had done all the hard work. Of course, if missing out were not bad enough, then being pipped by Tottenham Hotspur certainly made it even worse.

Nonetheless, this summer appears to be one in which Mikel Arteta and Edu are getting to work and making sure that a repeat performance does not happen, as we continue to appear to be rather active in the transfer window.

God knows that we needed to add some quality and depth to certain areas of the field, with the attack perhaps one key area that we could no longer ignore.

It seems that we could have potentially solved that issue as we expect Gabriel Jesus to make the switch from Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium, but could he also become a FIFA World Cup champion later in the winter?

According to the odds made available at Betway Sportsbook, it does appear to be a real possibility. Brazil has been made the favourites to win the competition that is being held in Qatar this winter, with the Selecao being priced as low as 5/1 in order to win.

While there will be a number of stars that the national team can call upon, it is likely that Jesus will be selected, and potentially provide a vital role in helping the likes of Neymar Jr and Vinicius Jr to end Europe’s dominance of the competition and return the biggest prize in football to the last South American country to win it; back in 2002 when the tournament was played across South Korea and Japan.

Of course, many of us will be hoping to see an instant impact from Jesus once he arrives and puts on our famous red shirt, but if he does what we have seen him capable of doing while he was playing for Man City, then there is every chance that he could head to Qatar as a very dangerous component of the Brazilian national team this winter, while simultaneously leaving Arsenal in a good position in the Premier League and perhaps even the UEFA Europa League.

5 Players Arsenal could sign this Premier League offseason

Arsenal missed out on their ultimate goal this season by missing Champions League qualification by two points to London rival Tottenham Hotspur. Despite failing to qualify for the top four, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will continue to be backed in the transfer market this offseason. There are several names that have been drawn up as possible signings.

Arteta could address squad needs by signing players from his former team Manchester City. The Arsenal manager has a few players set to depart the Emirates and those replacements will be vital to improving the team.

The Premier League season’s start is just around the corner and Arsenal supporters are debating whether or not the Gunners can finish in the top four. Bettors can read the latest Nigerian sports betting apps reviews before signing up and wagering on the upcoming campaign.

Gabriel Jesus

In April, it seemed like Jesus to Arsenal was nearly finalised. Yet, in recent weeks, the deal may not be as close as originally believed. Arteta wants Jesus to replace Alexandre Lacazette. The manager loves Jesus’s versatility. The forward was out of favour for parts of the season at Manchester City, but became a key player in the Cityzens’ final push for the Premier League title.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Guardiola is likely to add a new full-back at Manchester City, which would make left-back Zinchenko surplus to requirements. Zinchenko is heavily linked with Arsenal at the moment. It seems a strange signing with Kieran Tierney at the Emirates. However, it is claimed Arsenal are ready to axe the £24 million signing this offseason.

Levi Colwill

Arteta has adapted the tactic of his mentor Guardiola and that is to sign a defender in every summer transfer window. Levi Colwill could move to the Emirates this season, but Leicester City are also chasing the defender. Colwill spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Championship club Huddersfield helping them finish third in the table and qualify for the playoffs. The defender played 29 games, scoring two goals and adding one assist. He is owned by Chelsea, who are likely to sell Colwill this summer.

Tammy Abraham

If there were any doubters to striker Tammy Abraham’s ability to score goals, they should be quieted now. Abraham left Chelsea last offseason for £36 million for Serie A’s Roma. The striker hit the ground running under Jose Mourinho and went on to score 27 goals in 53 games in all competitions. Abraham won the Europa Conference League with the Giallorossi and scored nine goals in the competition. Abraham’s final Serie A goal tally was 17 in 37 appearances. He scored more goals in a single Serie A season than any other English player.

Youri Tielemans

From unwanted midfielder at Monaco to in-demand central maestro at Leicester City, it has been quite a journey for Youri Tielemans. Just one season remains on Tielemans’ current Leicester City contract and the player has already stated he wants to leave the club. Arsenal are interested in the midfielder, but could miss out on signing Tielemans due to a lack of Champions League football.

Edu appears to make promise to transfer target

A lot of the news that surrounds Arsenal at the moment will be regarding the striking department.

It could be argued that the Gunners missed out on the UEFA Champions League spot that had looked destined to be theirs because of a lack of a clinical finisher and a player who could make a real difference in the final third.

Eddie Nketiah certainly took on some of the responsibility himself as he managed to hit five goals in the final seven Premier League games of the season, but Alexandre Lacazette struggled and does not appear to be coming back to the Emirates Stadium. The English forward appears to be signing a new contract and committing his future, on the other hand.

Naturally, should the Frenchman leave, there will be an even greater need for the club to find a new striker and it seems that they are trying to do everything that they can to bring in one of their main targets and a multiple Premier League winner.

Whilst we have all been having fun at arabic-casinos.net and playing our favourite games, it seems Edu has been making certain promises to encourage a compatriot of his to join him in north London this summer.

According to exclusive quotes from Michael Bridge that have been shared with GiveMeSport, the transfer reporter has revealed that Arsenal’s technical director has told Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus that he will be the club’s new No. 9 if he were to join them.

He said: “Gabriel Jesus has been told by Edu that he will be Arsenal’s number nine.

“I’d imagine City will entertain the likes of Tottenham being involved in a bit of a bidding war and Tottenham have that carrot of Champions League football over Arsenal.

“But, Arsenal would stress that Jesus would be a central part, whereas you can’t convince anyone of that (at Tottenham) when you’ve got Harry Kane.”

Of course, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Jesus’ future, especially with the South American entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium. It is thought he would only be available to leave for around £51.5 million, though.

Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be interested and that could be a concern given the Champions League football aspect, but as Bridge suggests, Jesus would find it easier to get guaranteed minutes at the Gunners as he would have to try and dislodge either Harry Kane or even Son Heung-min from the Spurs team.

There is no doubt that Jesus would be considered an excellent signing for the club, but will the Gunners be able to get their man?

After a fantastic campaign with excellent performances, Bukayo Saka – Arsenal’s best young player, has been nominated for the PFA Premier League Player of the Year and Young Player of the year.

In this season, Saka has a total of 11 goals and 6 assists to his name. As a result, he became one of Arsenal’s standout players, also scoring against Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham.

Before Saka, Arsenal also had 5 excellent young players to win this noble award. Let’s take a look at the 5 Arsenal players who have won the PFA Premier League Young Player of the Year, as well as how they fared!

Tony Adams

The PFA Young Player of the Year is considered as a prestigious award given to a player aged 23 and under who has been in outstanding form across the Premier League table (ตารางพรีเมียร์ลีก in Thai) during the season.

Tony Adams has grown from the Gunners youth academy to establish himself as the greatest defender, leader, and legend the club has ever had. Adams won the award during the 1986-1987 season when the Premier League was still known as the First Division. He made 42 appearances and scored six goals as Arsenal finished fourth in the table.

Adams was Arsenal captain for three different decades before retiring in 2002 here. He has erected a statue outside the Emirates, and he is immortal at Arsenal.

Paul Merson

Merson is currently a commentator. Before that, he came from the Arsenal academy and received the Young Player of the Year award in 1988-1989. Arsenal won England in the most dramatic way possible, scoring a last-minute winner at Anfield to steal the title from Liverpool, and Merson scored 10 goals all season.

Merson went on to score 86 goals for the club in 369 games before leaving in 1997 and is regarded as a club’s hero.

Nicolas Anelka

One of the most promising young strikers in the Premier League, Anelka enjoyed a phenomenal two seasons at Arsenal, winning the award in 1999 before moving to Real Madrid.

The Frenchman became the first player from mainland Europe to win the award, and it was well deserved as he scored 17 Premier League goals. His subsequent career was very interesting.

Cesc Fabregas

One of the best young players Arsenal ever had, Fabregas almost helped lead Arsenal to the 2007-08 title, where they were four points behind Man Utd. With seven goals and 19 assists in the Premier League at the age of 19, Fabregas will become one of the best young players to ever play in the Premier League.

Fabregas should have become a club legend but controversially decided to go to Barcelonabefore joining Chelsea.

Jack Wilshere

Wilshere is one of the most talented players to come out of Hale End Academy. He was presented with the award in 2010-11 after a stellar season, leaving Gunners fans in awe with his superb technique and passing ability.

The English player became famous after his dominant performance against a powerful Barcelona. But the injury eventually turned things upside down for him. Wilshere then sadly had to leave Emirates in 2018.

We all know of the list of players that Arsene Wenger could have brought to Arsenal during his time at Highbury and then subsequently the Emirates Stadium, right?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are just some of the names to have been dropped by the former manager in past interviews, however it has now emerged that one player has spoken about being approached to play for the Gunners.

Vagner Love might not be a name that is instantly recognisable to many football fans, as he played the vast majority of his football for clubs outside of the top five European leagues, however he is a player that could have made a difference if he were given an opportunity.

Indeed, fans who use the Asian casinos8888 site like a goalscorer, and the Brazilian was definitely that, as he almost managed to score 50 goals in UEFA competitions in a career that saw him win the UEFA Cup in 2005 whilst playing for CSKA Moscow.

Actually, it is wrong to speak of him as if he no longer plays, as Love is currently enjoying life in Denmark with FC Midtjylland, but he has recently spoken about how he could have been playing for Wenger and Arsenal in the mid-noughties.

In an exclusive interview with FourFourTwo, the now-37-year-old spoke about how he was approached in 2006 about a move to the Emirates Stadium after helping CSKA Moscow and Brazil to glory – he helped them win two Copa America titles.

Whilst he admitted that he had enjoyed watching Thierry Henry do his thing for the Gunners, he revealed that a move was only being sounded out and that there was no concrete offer on the table.

Love also admitted that both Portsmouth and Everton had made official bids, but the president would not let him leave, thus leaving him to miss out on a career in the Premier League.

Here is what he had to say: “A year after winning the UEFA Cup, we played Arsenal and they sounded me out about a possible transfer, but there was no concrete offer.

“Portsmouth and Everton both made official bids, but the president was a tough negotiator and wouldn’t let me leave. The years went by and ultimately I didn’t get a chance to play in the Premier League. I’d have loved to because I’ve always watched it and can still remember Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney starring for Arsenal and Manchester United.”

What could have been, right?

After a poor start to the season, the 20-year-old has been a key member of Mikel Arteta’s side since the end of November, even keeping Emile Smith Rowe out of the starting XI.

His efforts have earned him his first call-up to Brazil’s senior team this month, and the Selecao will be looking to secure the future of one of the Premier League’s most exciting young players.

Arsenal’s youngster arrived at the Emirates in 2019 and has created a name for himself in north London. Martinelli is a rising star who has already helped his country win Olympic gold in Tokyo.

He recently received his first call-up to Brazil’s senior team, having previously only played for their minor teams.

Martinelli has dual Brazilian-Italian citizenship, and Chelsea’s midfielder, who was instrumental in the Azzurri’s Euro 2020 success, attempted to entice the Arsenal man away from the South American team.

Jorginho himself might have played for Brazil but chose not to, a decision Martinelli will not follow.

Gabriel Martinelli revealed that Jorginho made a sly attempt to switch his international allegiance but he never considered representing anyone but Brazil!

His comments

He was if anyone approached him about playing for Italy, and Martinelli told Globo about it:

“No-one spoke to me, only Jorginho once said to me, ‘I hope to see you in March, something like that, but no-one [official] spoke to me, no.” He added: “As I’ve said before, my dream was always to play for Brazil. I was just waiting for the opportunity to play for Brazil.”

Martinelli has established himself as a regular at Arsenal in recent months, taking up a position on the left side of a forward line. His finishing talent has earned him a spot as a possible No. 9, although the player prefers to operate in vast areas.

At the international level, this will mean he will face a lot of competition, which the youngster is well aware of.

He said: “I prefer to play on the wings, the left side especially. But I also like to reach the box a lot with a chance to finish. I can also play on the right side, but my favorite position is on the left-wing, cutting inside and getting as close to the goal as possible. We have many stars in our squad, but I will try to take advantage of the opportunity I have in the best way possible.

“All of the players are great, each of us has our own strengths. Neymar has his, Vini has his, [Ajax winger] Antony has his. I will do my best to get my place in the World Cup squad.” Brazil face Chile and Bolivia in the next week which could provide the Arsenal man with a chance to impress.

“With a world cup right around the corner – one of the best tournaments in the world – I want to go and play.”

Martinelli has been joined in the Brazil squad by Arsenal teammate Gabriel, with the defender also looking to make his debut.

Arsenal FC, a Brief History & How it Affected the Name “Gooners”

The Arsenal Football Club is a professional football club located in North London. The club was founded by workers at the Woolwich Arsenal armaments factory in 1886. Arsenal’s history has had many significant moments, but none more so than the events that occurred during World War I. In 1914, after the outbreak of war, Woolwich Arsenal’s chairman, Sir Henry Norris, and William Hall (the majority shareholder) agreed to sell the club to Sir Henry’s business partner and board member Charles Hill for £25,000. A few months later, on 6 January 1915, Hill collapsed and died at the age of 54 from pneumonia following complications from influenza. In 1923, with no football team in London for them to support after their local side disbanded (Clapton Orient), some Arsenal fans formed a team called Dial Square. In 1930, Arsenal was one of the original 12 clubs that formed the Football League and won their first league title in 1947. Arsenal became the first club to win two-thirds of all top-flight titles in England and was also the first club to win a European trophy when they won the Cup Winners’ Cup Final in 1992 over Barcelona.

The Origin of the Name “Gooners”: The Surname Gooner

It is unclear where the club founder nickname ‘Gooners’ came from. Some people believe that it is derived from the word ‘Gooner’, which means someone who is a hooligan or troublemaker.

In other cases, it has been suggested that the name ‘Gooners’ was given to club founders by a journalist in reference to the slang term for a supporter of Arsenal Football Club – “gooney” an old-school slang term for someone who was foolish or stupid.

The most commonly held belief on this dates back to the days of hooliganism in the 1970s.
One of Arsenal’s ‘firms’ was called the Goon Squad, a name which is said to have merged with the club nickname over time to form ‘Gooners’.

When Did Arsenal Fans Start Calling Themselves “Gooners”?

The origins of the nickname “Gooner” are not entirely clear. One theory is that it is derived from the word “gooney”, slang for a foolish person, which was used by Londoners to describe people from Newcastle. London Escorts ladies for example says they are calling Gooners from this name, just an interesting statement.

Another theory is that it comes from the word “goner”, meaning someone who is doomed or likely to die.

A third theory suggests that it comes from the word “gunner” – a term for an artilleryman, which was used in World War I to describe those who manned guns on Royal Navy ships.

Arsenal Fans on Twitter & What They Have to Say About Being Called ‘Gooners’

Arsenal fans are known for their loyalty to the club. They will go to great lengths to make sure that they support the team, even if it means sacrificing their own interests. One of the most popular ways of showing their support is by referring to themselves as ‘Gooners’.

Arsenal fans have a strong sense of community and are always there for each other. The hashtag #WeAreTheArsenal is used by Arsenal supporters all over the world to show their solidarity with the club and its values.

Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Arsenal reduced Manchester City’s lead over the Premier League leaders to one point. After looking at Arsenal, Liverpool came to a step closer to Premier League leaders Manchester City as an impressive winner. Liverpool has won nine games in the Premier League, while Arsenal remains fourth, one point ahead of Manchester United, with two games remaining. Liverpool has conceded two of their nine goals in a row. The victory means nine consecutive league wins and one point behind Manchester City in the same number of games.

Liverpool reduced the gap at the top of the table and won the league match by beating the mighty Arsenal, scoring two goals in eight minutes to secure the victory despite the poor performance. It was a showdown between the two most powerful teams: Liverpool, with eight consecutive league victories, and a mighty Arsenal who won five league games continuously before this defeat. The final whistle confirmed Liverpool as winners.

After all Liverpool’s good work, Liverpool’s patience proved to be decisive, with Diogo Jota breaking the stalemate just minutes after Jurgen Klopp‘s pulled Salah and Roberto Firmino off the bench. However, Jurgen Klopp’s defence held up during the assault and allowed the Reds to bide their time until Arsenal made a mistake.

Arsenal, well-fought for a top-four finish, pushed Liverpool to the max until Jurgen Klopp ruthlessly took over after the break. Arsenal harassed Jurgen Klopp during the first 45 minutes at the Emirates, with the Gunners midfield in control. Arsenal went on tiptoe with clinical Liverpool in the first 45 minutes, full of confidence after a five-game winning streak that took them to fourth place. Having beaten Arsenal in their last five league matches, Arsenal largely dominated the first half. Still, the game’s turning point came early in a frantic second half as clinical Liverpool extended their streak of nine league wins. Arsenal started the game and did their best to limit Liverpool’s passing game in the first 45 minutes with tackles and long fast counterattacks.

A 0-0 score began to look like a solid result for Liverpool against Arsenal at half-time. After the break, Liverpool’s class showed themselves as they took control first of Diogo Jota and then Roberto Firmino for their ninth successive Premier League win. Minutes later, substitute Roberto Firmino scored 2-0 to send Jurgen Klopp one point behind Manchester City to the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool played the rest of the game professionally as it ended 2-0 and Liverpool are now just one point behind league leaders Manchester City with nine games left each. Both the teams will go head to head on the 10th of April at Etihad.

On Saturday, Arsenal will visit Aston Villa for their Premier League match.

Mikel Arteta’s side survived a scare to overcome Watford 3-2 last time out, while the Foxes arrive having claimed a 2-0 advantage in the first leg of their Europa Conference League last-16 tie with Rennes.

The 25 points they have accrued during that period is the joint-most in the division, alongside Manchester City.
Premier League: Arsenal travel to Watford

Arsenal who are on 45 points and are positioned 6th on the table, travel to Watford on Sunday.

The gunners have a staggering 3 games in hand over West Ham and Manchester United who are just above them on the table.

West Ham are only above thanks to goal difference and the Red Devils have a slim 2 points lead.

Irrespective of other results, if Arsenal can manufacture wins from their game in hands, they can propel themselves to a much higher position.

Maybe even break into the top 4, which seemed miles away in the initial phase of the season!

Now to convert these, games in hand to points in the bag, their first checkpoint is in the form of Watford, who finds itself languishing at the bottom.

Watford is 19th on the table is looking like a side destined to go down.

But let’s scrutinize these two teams and see if we can salvage some reasons for Watford to be excited about this game!

it’s the basement boys vs potentially the top 4 boys, it’s Watford versus Arsenal at Vicarage Road!

History:

Watford and Arsenal have shared the pitch on 33 occasions and it’s safe to say Arsenal dominates this contest by a fair margin.

The gunners have won 19 matches compared to the 12 of Watford, and the match ended in a stalemate on a couple of occasions

Also in much recent history, Watford is winless against Arsenal in their last 7 meetings. Losing 6 and drawing once.

Form:

Arsenal in their last 5 matches (all competition) have won 3 games, lost once, and settled for a draw once.

But heading into this one, they are coming off the back of 3 consecutive victories.

Watford in their last 5 matches has suffered 3 defeats and a draw with Manchester United, which was also their latest affair.

Their only victory came against Aston Villa, at Villa Park via a single 78th min goal scored by Bonaventure.

Trivia:

Watford has earned just seven points from 45 available in the Premier League versus Arsenal (W2 D1 L12), with four of these coming in their last three home games against them (W1 D1 L1).

Arsenal has scored in all 15 of their Premier League encounters against Watford, with the Gunners only having a higher 100 percent scoring rate in the competition against West Brom (26/26).

Watford has won just three of their 20 Premier League games in March (D3 L14), the second-lowest victory rate in the month of any team with more than three seasons in the competition (15%), trailing only Ipswich Town (13 percent).

Prediction:

Considering all the facets like history, Watford’s terrible form in the month of March, and most importantly their recent run of form, it’s hard to imagine anything other than an Arsenal victory.

Yes, they play at Vicarage Road, but even the home advantage may not be enough in the face of a mountain of a test in Arsenal.

The premier league is not easy and it can still stun you, surprise you, but if Arsenal play to their full potential, at least on paper the North London boys should be winning this one comfortably!

Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers will arrive at the Emirates Stadium in London to face Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. In the space of one month, the Gunners will be looking to have a second win over Wolves. The Gunners won 1-0 at Molineux back on February 10 and head into the midweek battle one place and two points better off than their opponents, having played a game fewer.

This game will be crucial for both teams as they will be looking to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. So, the game will be tight as both teams needed the three points. A win will certainly boost their run for the remainder of this season. A win could take Arsenal a point behind Manchester United with two games in hand. But it won’t be easy against Wolves, a team that has been transformed a lot under Bruno Lage.

Against Brentford, Arsenal had a dominant victory with the goals from Saka and Smith Rowe. Martinelli served his one-game ban following his Molineux red card in the win over Brentford, and the Brazilian’s return means that Arteta is blessed with a fully-fit squad for this crucial battle.

In February, Arsenal is having a terrific run. They opened the month of February with two wins from two in the top flight and could be considered as the leaders of the top-four chasing pack, currently sat sixth but only four points behind Manchester United with three games in hand.

Wolves will start the match after a narrow win over Leicester City last week. But it boosted their chance for a top-four spot, and against Gunners, they will need another three points to keep the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester United.

Team News:

Arsenal: The exciting news for Mikel Arteta is the return of Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal almost has a fully fit squad. Cedric Soares might start over Takehiro Tomiyasu as he had a great match against Brentford.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Yerson Mosquera and Willy Boly have returned to full training, and the Molineux crowd witnessed the very welcome sight of Pedro Neto making his first appearance of the season against Leicester following his serious knee injury. Rayan Ait-Nouri’s presence is in doubt after getting a knock against Leicester City.

Thierry Henry – The King 👑

Thierry Henry, full name Thierry Daniel Henry (born 17 August 1977, Châtillon, France), is a French football player and coach. He scored goals for the national team, More than any other player in French history, considered one of the most prolific strikers—the scorer of their era. French Thierry Henry spent most of his club career at Arsenal, where he spent eight years winning two Premier League titles and three FA Cups while becoming the club’s leading player in the Premier League. Best scorer in history. One of the greatest players of his generation, he has amassed a wealth of trophies during his illustrious career at the club. He became Arsenal’s top scorer in all competitions, scoring two goals in the Champions League win over Sparta Prague on 17 October 2005, breaking Ian Wright’s record of 185 goals.

On 1 February 2006, he scored against West Ham United, breaking Cliff Bastins’ record of 150 goals and becoming Arsenal’s all-time leader in league goals. Thierry Henry set a club record with 174 goals during his eight seasons at Arsenal. In mid-2004, Thierry Henry won the 2003-04 Golden Boot, became UEFA’s top scorer (30), and helped Arsenal win the Premier League again. France entered the European Championship in 2000, and Thierry Henry scored the winning goal for France in the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup and won the best player of the tournament.

Thierry Henry didn’t necessarily start with a clinical advantage in terms of goals. Still, he worked hard as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger asked him to and quickly became one of the most feared players in the Premier League, eventually becoming League top scorer (the magic mark of scoring 30 goals at a time). Thierry Henry was designed more like a winger when he came to Clay Fontaine, a French football academy ahead of its time and trained David Trezeguet and Nicolas Anelka; Henry was turned into a striker by the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. However, when he arrived at Arsenal two weeks before his 22nd birthday, Henry had to contend with more than a repositioning. France’s top scorer (51 goals) Henry played for his old club from 1999 to 2007 and was loaned out again in 2012. Henry was named the greatest Arsenal player of all time after scoring 228 goals in north London.

However, most remember Thierry Henry from his time in France, the brilliant goals he scored for Arsenal when he played the most exciting and attractive football in the country (and perhaps the continent). In total, he made 123 caps for France and is the country’s all-time leading scorer. Henry’s first spell at Arsenal is where, if you hadn’t witnessed it yourself, you’d think the praise was a gross exaggeration. Henry’s early days at Arsenal are synonymous with the simple fact that he didn’t score in his first eight matches.
